Services are provided in the heart of the Sylmar-San Fernando and
the Long Beach-Los Angeles County communities. Each clinic location
is Certified by The State of California and provides a
therapeutic environment with its comfort, tranquility, and security.
Total Family Support Center is committed to providing comprehensive outpatient treatment and recovery services, education,
and aftercare support services. Our Youth Services are designed
using traditional and progressive treatment modalities which can
encompass both youth aged 12 to 18 years and transitional youth aged
18 to 21. The emphasis of these treatment services is prevention and
sobriety through peer counseling, tutoring, mentorship, and outreach
to local schools, churches, and community-based organizations.
TFSC
provides an assessment which is comprehensive, multi-faceted, and
culturally, as well as developmentally, appropriate. TFSC then
incorporates the assessment into a customized intensive treatment
plan that centers on crisis stabilization, short term therapeutic
interventions, specific recovery goals and discharge planning for
the next level of care. TFSC integrates a “youth development
philosophy” as the foundation of treatment for youth drawn from the
assessment and treatment planning processes which are strength based
rather than deficit based. TFSC endeavors to ascertain that all
youths appropriate for treatment in outpatient and intensive
outpatient meet the diagnostic criteria of a substance related
disorder as outlined in the DSM IV.
Furthermore, TFSC
includes a comprehensive program for the dually diagnosed; this
condition refers to co-occurring Mental Illness, Drug Addiction
and/or Alcoholism in various combinations. TFSC follows the
guidelines set forth in the ASM PPC_2R to determine the level
of care and the severity of AOD problems. These services are
